the simple things

It's the simple things that make me happy. :)

Like my vase full of limes in the summertime.

I love a pop of green on my kitchen table, but I don't want to spend lots of money on flowers that die quickly.
So during the summer, every other week, I buy a bag of limes and fill my vase.
They last longer than flowers, and the simplicity is totally my style.

Less is more, if you ask me.

I'm easy to least I'd like to think so! :)

  1. Beautiful...I love it! I usually only buy fresh flowers when we are having a party..which is about twice a year! haha! For the kids' birthdays! Alex's birthday party is Saturday and I bought a bouquet of flowers today. When Dan got home from work he said..."Wow, who are the flowers from?" LOL! I love your style!

  2. I found your blog on the Beth Moore Blog.

Love the vase of limes. I used to do that with lemons! Or both.

I read your previous post about fear - and I can so totally relate in so many ways!

  3. What a great picture... lovely!!!

I usually get lemons, only cause I love to make fresh lemonade after awhile!

    Hope you are feeling better...

    God bless!

  4. Carrie, Kristy & Amanda - Thanks for commenting. :)

  5. Love it, Amanda! I have a bowl of fake green apples on my table, and besides the obvious coat of dust they aquire, everyone thinks they're real. I've had several people try to take a bite before I leap over to stop them! : ) I agree, the fruit lasts longer than flowers... Chad's always off the hook for fresh flowers for that reason.
